Online Anxiety and Trauma Therapy for stressed-out millennials, using a somatic, mind & body approach.
Welcome to The Therapy Space
The Therapy Space was founded on the idea that we all need the space in our lives to be fully ourselves. The space to be seen. The space to be heard. The space to feel accepted and understood without any judgment. And that is what we do here - hold space for you.

Hi, I’m Kristen
I am the owner of The Therapy Space, a mental health & wellness therapy practice supporting adults throughout the state of Texas. Professionally, I am a licensed therapist and a trauma and anxiety specialist. And, I am also a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, and a fellow human being who understands many of the struggles you might be navigating.
For many of us, I know it can feel pretty scary to seek out help. There was a time when I personally thought my own struggles were not “bad enough” for therapy or that I “should” be able to figure things out all on my own. As it turns out, therapy was exactly what I needed. Sometimes the hardest part really is taking that first step and giving ourselves the space and permission to do so.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Your thoughts are racing as you try to fall asleep. You forgot to put the laundry in the dryer again. You feel guilty about how upset your child got earlier and wish you had handled it better. You wish you had worked out tonight but binged TV instead. You’re worried about how you came across in a meeting. You know you need to talk to your partner about that thing but still haven’t.
You can’t stop thinking about everything on your to-do list that you didn’t get to today.
You know you need to sleep because tomorrow is a big day and who knows if your kid is going to sleep well tonight or not? Maybe you decide to just look at your phone for a few minutes but the state of the world just makes you feel more anxious (obviously) and besides, you forgot to text your friend back (again), and that stresses you out too.
Here’s the truth: life can be pretty challenging at times for all of us, no matter who we are or how hard we try, so please let me remind you of this: you are not the only one feeling overwhelmed by it all.
Maybe you’re not sure exactly what it is - you just know you haven’t been feeling all that great lately and you aren’t sure what to do next. Maybe you feel like you’ve already tried all the things - you’ve read the books, tried the meditations, listened to the podcasts, done the yoga classes, and tried to practice more “self-care”. Maybe you’ve even tried therapy before but it wasn’t a good fit.
Some days it feels like no matter how hard you try, you can’t get it together. You worry that you aren’t doing enough for your kids, or your family, or your job, or your friends. You wish you had more time to yourself.
You think you should be able to handle it all, so why does it feel so impossible?
If you’re reading this right now, you might be seeking support to deal with a particular area of your life, such as a recent stressful event or higher levels of anxiety, or you might want to process challenging or traumatic experiences from your past. Regardless of what brought you here, let me tell you something I deeply believe in: it is possible to feel differently than you do right now. Really, it is.
When you find the right therapist for you, therapy becomes a transformational space - you will develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your values, you will learn how to manage feelings of anxiety while calming your mind and body, you will understand where some of your struggles began in the first place and become less critical of yourself, you will feel more confident in your choices and learn to set boundaries where needed, your relationships will become more satisfying, and ultimately: you will find life to be more enjoyable - things don’t need to feel so hard all the time.
Things really can and will get better. If you want to see how therapy with me can help you feel better in everyday life, let’s chat. Contact me for a complimentary 15-minute consultation to see how it feels to work with me before committing to your first session.
